Project background

The Swiss and Euro-​Atlantic Se­cur­ity Team of the Think Tank at CSS ana­lyzes is­sues in Swiss for­eign and se­cur­ity policy, as well as de­vel­op­ments in the Euro-​Atlantic se­cur­ity environment and in Europe’s south­ern and east­ern neigh­bor­hoods, European in­ternal se­cur­ity, pre­vent­ing vi­ol­ent ex­trem­ism, and the nexus between se­cur­ity and de­vel­op­ment.

Job description

You will analyse developments, as well as organise and lead workshops on arms control, non-proliferation and disarmament in a new environment affected by geopolitical developments and emerging technologies. You will also publish in policy relevant and other publications, and transfer your knowledge in dialogue with policymakers and other relevant stakeholders.

Your profile

You have excellent knowledge of arms control, non-proliferation and disarmament, and are highly motivated to contribute to reconceptualising arms control. You have an M.A. or a Ph.D. in Political Science or a related discipline. You possess excellent analytical, writing and presentation skills.

The CSS is a multi-lingual working environment, so proficiency in English alongside at least one Swiss national language is required. Work experience in international organizations or think tanks would be an advantage, as is knowledge of the Swiss political landscape.
