On August 29 from 19.30-20.30 Vienna time (GMT+2), the CTBTO will convene a special online event to commemorate the International Day Against Nuclear Testing. The event is hosted in partnership with the prestigious European Forum Alpbach: https://www.alpbach.org/en/
The event will consists of two sessions:
A High Level Session featuring:
- CTBTO Executive Secretary Dr Lassina Zerbo
- Former President of Finland and GEM Member Tarja Kaarina Halonen
- Minister of Foreign Affairs of Algeria Sabri Boukadoum
A discussion with young scholars on CTBT in the Global Context featuring:
- Sahil Shah, European Leadership Network
- Sarah Bidgood, James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies in Monterey
- Natalia Zhurina, Agency for the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons in Latin America and the Caribbean (OPANAL)
The discussion will be moderated by Francesca Giovannini, CTBTO.
