Two CYG members, Jarret Fisher (USA) and Yeseul Woo (South Korea), joined a third female researcher, Han Wei, to create their own Track 2 Dialogue between the United States, People's Republic of China, and South Korea.
They were inspired to do so by Shirley Chisholm, who once said, "If they don't give you a seat at the table, bring your own chair."
These young women brought their own table and chairs because they want to show that diplomacy and international relations does not only happen between Presidents and Ambassadors. Some of the most important relations between countries are cultivated between citizens.
The CTBTO Youth Group is an invaluable platform to bring more young women into this field... we can learn a lot from diverse perspectives.

Their message to other young leaders is, "Do not wait for an invitation to lead!" They also want everyone to know that diversity leads to better outcomes, period.
All three young women conducted independent research on nuclear nonproliferation and disarmament this summer as part of the NEREC Summer Fellowship. NEREC is the Nuclear Nonproliferation Education and Research Center at KAIST in Daejeon, South Korea.
